Lagos PDP Rejects Outcome Of Governorship Election

The Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has described the outcome of governorship election in the state as a “case of stolen mandate.”

Reacting to the outcome of the election that threw up Akinwumi Ambode of the All Progressives Congress, APC, as the governor elect, Tajudeen Jaye Agoro, PDP state agent said the election was flawed with much irregularities.

Agoro said the duo of Akin Orebiyi, the state’s Resident Electoral Commissioner and Isaac Adewole, the returning officer refused to address the observations he raised during the bit-by-bit presentation of the results.

The PDP had claimed that manual voting was done in some parts of the state including Ibeju/Lekki, Alimosho and Ikeja local government areas.

“We will not accept the result. We will resort to our next line of action and get back our stolen mandate,” Agoro said.

In protest, the PDP refused to sign the Commission’s result sheet.

Meanwhile, Jimi Agbaje, the PDP candidate in Lagos has conceded defeat and congratulated Ambode for his victory.

Members of the APC who spoke with TELL expressed happiness over the victory saying the emergence of Ambode is a manifestation of the peoples choice
