In order to empower children to become active participants in the transformation of their societies and to provide them with a conducive atmosphere of learning, the Rotary Club, Igando-Egan, Lagos has decided to renovate all public schools in the area.
Ori Adeyemo, President of the Rotary club Igando-Egan, disclosed this on Sunday, November 10 at the Igando palace while hosting Bamidele Balogun, the Rotary District 9110 Nigeria Governor, students from schools around the catchment area and their head teachers.
Adeyemo said that “Rotary stands for putting smiles on people’s face and he is happy that the club is achieving that aim.” He urged the school heads to call on the Rotary Club whenever their school needs help.
The high point of the event was the presentation of exercise books to 23 primary and secondary schools represented at the event and Small/Medium Enterprise money to five beneficiaries.
Speaking at the event, Balogun said, he is happy because “we provided gifts for all the schools in this catchment area and that the Inclusive schools have been specially recognized.”
He added that “Rotary will go a long way in assisting all the needs of the special students. It is our joy to serve the community.”
