Church Members Donate N20 million To Pastor Bakare

Members of the Latter Rain Assembly, LRA, Ogba, Lagos have donated the sum of N20 million to Tunde Bakare, founder and general overseer of the church as a gift to mark his 60th birthday.

Presenting a cheque of the money to Bakare during his birthday thanksgiving service at the church headquarter in Lagos on Tuesday, members of the church said the money was meant to renovate All Saints Primary School, Ogun State, the Pastor’s alma mater.

In his remark, the celebrant thanked members of the church for helping him to fulfil what he had always wanted to do.

The Pastor who is also active politically seized the occasion to talk about the upcoming 2015 general elections. Bakare who was the Vice Presidential candidate of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, at the 2011 Presidential elections said, “Whoever comes to power in 2015 has been chosen to change the country.”

Informing his church members of his plan to visit an orphanage in Ogun State tomorrow, Bakare also said he cannot hold back his wealth from the less privileged because he was once like them.

In his speech at the service, Ibikunle Amosun, Ogun State governor felicitated with Bakare and advised him to relocate LRA to the state so that members of his state would benefit more from the Pastor’s experience.

The program was also attended by Olusegun Osoba, former governor of Ogun State, Oby Ezekwesili, former Minister of Education and leader of the “Bring back our girls” campaign group, and Ayo Oritsejafor, President, Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN among others.
