Police Donates N3 million, Foodstuffs to Wives of Missing Officers

Again, the Nigerian Police Force has donated N3 million to six out of the wives of the 35 police officers who went missing in August, with each receiving a sum of N500, 00.

A statement made available to newsmen on Tuesday by Emmanuel Ojukwu, the force spokesman said Suleiman Abba, Inspector-General of Police, presented the cheques to the women through Ibrahim Idris, Commissioner of Police for Mobile Police Force, Kubwa. The omen were also given different food items to aid their feeding.

The 35 police officers were declared missing on August 20, 2014, after Boko Haram insurgents invaded the Police Mobile Training College in Gwoza, Borno State. One of the missing officers was aid to have resurfaced three months ago and reported for duty. The Inspector-General had earlier donated N7 million on December 30 when he visited 14 wives of the missing officers at Akwanga, Nasarawa State with each of the women receiving N500, 000. While assuring that the salaries of the missing officers would be paid for one year, starting from August 2014, Abba promised that the force would continue the search for the officers until they are found alive or dead.  He added that against all odds, the for쵣e would continue to perform its constitutional duties of safeguarding lives and properties.
