Following the gruesome killing of its abducted air force pilot by Islamic State militants, Jordan has executed two convicted jihadists.
The convicted Jihadists, Sajida al-Rishawi, a female and al-qaeda operative Ziyad Karboli, both Iraqi citizens, were hanged on Wednesday morning.
The executions is coming on the heels of the release of a video believed to have been released by IS. The video appears to show pilot Moaz al-Kasabeh being burned alive by IS.
Jordan had made efforts to secure the pilot’s release in a swap involving Rishawi, but it is believed that IS killed him about a month ago.
