Muhammad Sanusi 11, Emir of Kano has appealed to the federal government to handle the issue of insecurity in Nigeria with maximum effort.

Sanusi charged the federal government to listen to the advice of statesmen from the troubled northern region since the present strategies by the government has not been fruitful.

“I appeal to FG to treat the insurgency with maximum effort, & listen to advice of statesmen in the region, as current strategies aren’t working,” the Emir said in a short statement released on his Twitter handle.

Apart from the three Northeastern states of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe, most affected by the Boko Haram Islamic sect, Kano has also been a flashpoint of attacks for the group.

Apparently, Sanusi’s appeal came as a reaction to increased attacks and seizure of more towns in the north eastern region.
