The Presidency has firmly dismissed a viral report claiming that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has replaced his Chief of Staff, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, with the Principal Private Secretary, Hakeem Muri-Okunola.

In a statement clarifying the issue signed by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, and dated December 25, 2025, the Presidency described the claim circulating on social media as false, misleading, and entirely baseless, urging Nigerians to disregard it.

According to the statement, Femi Gbajabiamila remained the Chief of Staff to the President, while Hakeem Muri-Okunola continued to serve in his capacity as Principal Private Secretary.

At no point, the Presidency stressed, has Muri-Okunola been appointed to replace Gbajabiamila.

The government further noted that the misinformation was deliberately fabricated by purveyors of fake news seeking to create confusion and disharmony within the administration.

The Presidency also cautioned media organisations and social media users to always verify information from credible sources before publishing or sharing, particularly on sensitive matters involving government officials.
