Religious Calling, A higher Pedestal of Service – Oyintiloye

Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, House of Assembly member-elect for Obokun Constituency of Osun State, has called on all religious leaders to remain as shining lights to the society in their confession, character and conduct.

This he said at the inauguration of the New Executive Council for the Obokun Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN on Friday, April 17.

He said this disposition would help quicken the conscience of the society to seek after eternal values rather than vainglory of this world.

Oyintiloye, who congratulated the newly inaugurated executives described the callings of the religious leaders as the highest, saying that they should remain committed to their calling through preaching and practice of Holy Living.

While calling them to continue to inspire excellence through intercession and encouragement of men of goodwill, Oyintiloye said for those who are led to venture into politics these virtues will bring about rapid development.

He said apart from direct engagement in politics, religious leaders of different faiths must also move closer to those in the position of authority for prayers and guidance without necessarily denigrating their positions as men of God.

“Leaders generally are vulnerable in some ways just as positions of authority are very sensitive and it requires the intervention of religious leaders through prayers and guidance for one not to misbehave,” he said.
