NFF Mandates Keshi To Build Vibrant Team

The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has expressed hope that returnee Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi, will build a vibrant Super Eagles side that will return the Nigerian national team to the once envious heights of the past.

In achieving this task, the NFF who unveiled Keshi on Tuesday has mandated him to ensure that the Super Eagles is made up of a young and vibrant team.

Seyi Akinwunmi, first Vice president of the NFF who presided over the event, expressed the wishes of the Federation saying that “Keshi has the charge to create a new young, vibrant Eagles that would play a style of football that Nigerians would be proud of,” said Akinwunmi.

He added that, “in order to ensure a seamless transition of the U20 players to the Super Eagles.”

Akinwunmi further added that Keshi’s appointment would be the beginning of a new dawn in football coaching in Nigeria.

“Keshi’s appointment is part of a long-term plan to develop world-class coaches and so the board took its time to deliberate over the appointment of Keshi,” Akinwunmi revealed.

The contract signing was initially scheduled for last Friday but Amaju Pinnick, NFF President was said to have been out of the country on that day.
