The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a 36-year-old woman, identified as Anulika Onyeanusia, over an alleged case of child sexual abuse and child pornography in Onitsha.

The arrest was made on Thursday, September 10, 2026, after police operatives reportedly acted on open-source intelligence concerning a video circulating online in connection with the alleged abuse of a minor.

The Command’s spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said four children, aged two, three, six and nine, were rescued during the operation.

According to the police, Onyeanusia is currently in custody while investigators work to establish the circumstances surrounding the alleged offence and determine whether other individuals may have been involved.

Her husband is also being questioned by investigators to determine whether he had any connection with the alleged offence.

The case gained public attention after material allegedly involving the minor began circulating online. The suspect has reportedly claimed that the material was generated using artificial intelligence.

However, the AI claim has not been independently established and remains part of the allegations being investigated. Police have not, based on the account available, publicly confirmed that the material was AI-generated.

The rescue of the four children has prompted further investigation into their circumstances and welfare. Authorities are expected to establish whether the children were exposed to any form of abuse or exploitation and whether additional suspects or circumstances are involved.

The police investigation is ongoing.

The suspect remains presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty by a court of law.
