Indian Court Strikes Out Online Arrest Law

An Indian Supreme Court has struck out a controversial law which allowed police to arrest people for comments considered offensive on social networks and other internet sites.

The court ruled that section 66A of the Information Technology Act was unconstitutional.

Several people have been arrested in the past for their comments n Facebook or Twitter.
