Following the sack of football leaders by the government after the Super Eagles crashed out of the 2014 World Cup, the Federation Internationale de Football Association, FIFA has suspended Nigeria from all international competitions.
The suspension, excluding Nigerian teams and officials from international matches and meetings, takes immediate effect.
FIFA also gave a condition that Nigeria resolves the problem by July 15 otherwise it would also be banned from partaking in the Under-20 Women’s World Cup, which is to kick off in Canada on August 5.
The Nigerian government recently relieved some NFF leaders of their positions over allegations of misappropriation of fund. Aminu Maigari, the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF President was also arrested last week after he returned from Brazil.
Although a Nigerian court had ordered that the Ministry of Sports could go ahead to appoint new leaders for the NFF, the world football governing body still regarded that as a form of interference and went ahead to slam a suspension on Nigeria.
