Brazil 2014: Artist Transforms Self Into World Cup Trophy

The ongoing FIFA World Cup in Brazil has raised a lot of awareness for the game of soccer and the World Cup fever is spreading to the remotest part of the globe.

While other soccer fans are simply in Brazil to express their passion for the game, Emma Allen, a 33-year-old London-based artist, has created a selfie of the World Cup, turning her face and arms into the official green and gold trophy of the FIFA game.

With the use of a bald cap clutched to her skull, Allen used body paints of different colours — gold, brown, white, black and green – to recreate the iconic piece of World Cup hardware.

While stating that the transformation took about three hours — two for the makeup, one to line up the perfect shot, Allen stressed that the innovation was borne out of a desire to fulfill a challenge.

“The hardest thing was getting my arms and hands in the right position. I took a lot of pictures before settling on the final one. I wanted to try and see if I could represent it in face paint,” Allen said.
