Christopher Giwa, factional chairman, Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has said that the election that brought him into office on Tuesday August 26 in Abuja was irreversible.
While speaking to journalists at the NFF secretariat in Abuja, Giwa assured that there would not be a repeat election on September 4 as has been widely speculated by the Maigari-led faction of the NFF.
“No, no, no there will never be an election on September 4 because we will not and I repeat we will not allow anybody to mess up with the NFA, CAF and FIFA statutes, no matter who the person thinks he is. A congress sat on November 28, 2013 and agreed that election will hold on August 26 and somebody will wake up because he has lost out to tell us he wants to conduct election, no, it will not happen,” Giwa said.
Giwa, who spoke on the impending ban from FIFA, assured Nigerians that FIFA would not ban the country.
“I am confident that the Nigeria Football Association (NFA) will not be sanctioned because I know FIFA as an organization that is not biased, an organization that will listen to everybody and the right decision will be taken,” he added.
