The court of appeal has upturned the victory of Aisha Alhassan, governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the last election. She had earlier got the judgment at the state election tribunal. But today the court of appeal headed by justice Abdul Aboki ruled that the woman known as Mama Taraba lacks the legal right to challenge the constitutionality of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to field Ishaku. That was the basis on which the APC candidate got the judgment from the lower court.
Except the supreme court reverses the latest judgment, Alhassan who has already been appointed minister by President Muhammadu Buhari will have to remain in the federal cabinet, and perhaps wait for another chance in 2019.
