Wike rewards Rivers United FC ₦12Million each

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has rewarded each of the players of Rivers United Football Club with the sum of $20,000 (₦12million) for winning this year’s Nigerian Professional Football League championship.

The governor also said the team would be sponsored on a tour to Real Madrid in Spain for two weeks and will get the full support of the government to prosecute the 2022/23 CAF Champions Legaue.

The governor said, “Today, our own Rivers United F. C. winners of Npflofficial 2022/2023 season were at the Government House to formally present their trophy.

Wike is flanked to his left hand the Deputy Governor, Ipalibo Harry, to his left by the Commissioner for Sports, Chris Green, and the players

“We are elated at their victory and the record margin they used to win the league.

“To encourage them, the players will get $20,000 each and be sponsored to Real Madrid on a 2-week training tour.

“We are also fully committed to supporting the team to ensure they excel in their continental competition.”
