BREAKING: Young Woman Kidnapped in Edo, Abductors Demand ₦20 Million Ransom for Release
The family of Wahab Aisha has appealed to security agencies for help after kidnappers demanded a ₦20 million ransom following her abduction at Igbira Camp.
A young woman identified as Wahab Aisha has been kidnapped in Edo State, with her abductors reportedly demanding a ransom of ₦20 million for her release.
According to reports, Aisha was abducted last week Saturday at Igbira Camp, a community in Edo State, by unknown gunmen who have since contacted her family to demand the ransom.
The incident, which has sparked widespread concern online, was first reported by social media users, including activist @Dammiedammie35 on X (formerly Twitter), who shared that Aisha’s kidnappers threatened to harm her if the ransom is not paid soon.
The family is said to be devastated and currently appealing for public and security intervention, as they are unable to meet the kidnappers’ financial demands.
Kidnapping incidents have continued to rise across Nigeria, particularly in Edo, Kogi, and Ondo states, where travellers, students, and residents have increasingly fallen victim to criminal gangs operating in forested areas.
As of press time, neither the Edo State Police Command nor the State Government has issued an official statement on the case. However, sources say local vigilante groups have begun combing nearby forests in search of Aisha.
Citizens are urged to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements to authorities as investigations continue.
