Students of the University of Lagos are currently staging a protest at the entrance of the school campus in Akoka, Yaba, Lagos.

According to reports, the students are protesting the school authority’s demand that some students pay N20,000 for late editing or registration forms.

The students first converged at the University’s Senate Building where they shouted slogans and sang protest songs demanding that the school ends what they said was a form of exploitation.

The students then left the senate building and went on a rampage round all faculties in the school. They proceeded to block all entrances to the schoolthereby preventing cars from going in and out of the campus.

According to some of the protesting students, they registered late because the school management shut the school portal against registration, only for the authorities to demand an extra N20,000 from students registering late.

In the same vein, students of the Lagos State University yesterday barricaded the office of Babatunde Fashola, Lagos State governor.

The barricade came24 hours after eight of the protesting students were arraigned before an Ikeja Chief Magistrate court for alleged breach of public peace.
