Two unidentified women suspected to be kidnappers working for ritualists were on Thursday afternoon caught in the act and set ablaze in Iwo, Iwo Local Council of Osun state.

This came on the heels of investigation into the upsurge in missing persons in the town by the police.

According to the police spokesperson in the state, the police had earlier on Monday swooped on a ritualists den in the Yemoja area of Iwo following investigation to unravel the mystery behind the sudden disappearance of one Mutiat Alani.

After Mutiat Alani was declared missing, the police tracked her phone and found it with a vulcanizer who claimed his brother gave him. He led the police to the hideout of the ritualists where they were arrested. An irate mob surrounded the house and set it ablaze.

Yemisi Opatola, Osun police spokesperson told reporters that the brothers arrested had in their custody three mutilated corpses of kidnapped persons being sold to ritualists.

On Thursday, two women suspected to be kidnappers were apprehended by vigilant persons around Ori Eru area in Iwo.

The suspected kidnappers were taken to the palace of Oluwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, who directed they should be taken to the police station.

However, they were unlucky as the irate mob set them ablaze at a junction close to the former Wema Bank branch located at Oja Ale (night) in Iwo.
