Honourable Murtala Adamu, Mutawallen Jangebe, chairman, ZSUBEB, was the deputy speaker Zamfara State House of Assembly between 2007 and 2011. Initially, he was chief whip (2003), and later chairman, Appropriation and Finance Committee of the House in 2007. He assumed the leadership of ZSUBEB with a wealth of experience both academically and career-wise. Honourable Adamu started his education at a local primary school in Jangebe. He later proceeded to Teachers’ Training College, Bakura and College of Education, Sokoto in 1996. He taught for two years before he moved to University of Maiduguri and obtained B.Sc. degree in Agriculture and commenced work as Depot Manager at Cocoa Cola in Nsukka, Enugu State. Missing his first calling, he took a teaching appointment before joining a project that is sponsored by International Fund for Agriculture Development and served for two years. He later proceeded to University of Sokoto in 1999 for M.Sc. in Economics and joined Danfodio University for a lecturing job in Economics Department. He was a director in Board of Internal Revenue, and later director of Planning, Research and Statistics of the board before he resigned and went into politics in 2003. He is currently pursuing is Ph.D. programme at Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto on the Impact of Foreign Aid. Hon Adamu is happily married with children.
