A shocking act of jungle justice has rocked the Ipetu Ijesa community after a local chief, Oloye Gbenga Ajibade, allegedly forced a 25-year-old man, Ebenezer, to drink a lethal mix of Gammalin-20 and Sniper for stealing just two fresh pieces of corn from his farm.

The incident happened on July 31. Witnesses say Ebenezer pleaded for mercy, telling the chief it was his first time stealing and that he was desperately hungry. But Oloye Gbenga allegedly ignored him, mixed the industrial pesticides into a cup, and forced him to consume it, leaving him to die.

The tragedy deepened when word reached Ebenezer’s father that his son had been poisoned. Believing Ebenezer was already dead, the man collapsed on the spot and died instantly from shock.

However, the story took an unexpected turn. Community members, acting swiftly, rushed Ebenezer to Wesley Guild Hospital, where doctors managed to neutralize the poison and stabilize his condition.

Locals claim the chief has a long history of intimidating residents, with Ilesa Amotekun allegedly warning him in the past about similar behavior.

On August 8, the Osun State Police Command confirmed that Oloye Gbenga had been arrested and that an investigation is ongoing to determine the exact charges he will face.

A disturbing video linked to the incident has gone viral on social media, sparking widespread outrage and renewed calls for an end to jungle justice in Nigeria.
