One Dead in Ekiti Violence

Kayode Fayemi

Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State and members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, were on Sunday attacked by the Police during the party’s campaign in preparation for the gubernatorial election on June 21, 2014.

“You have killed one person, whose interest are you protecting,” Fayemi challenged Felix Uyanna, commissioner of police Ekiti State command as he left the scene of the incident.

Residents alleged that they heard gun shots and that Police men at the scene of the incident were the ones who fired the shot.

Jide Awe, chairman of the state chapter of APC, said for the interest of peace in the forthcoming governorship election, the president must intervene fast and transfer Uyanna.
