A viral video has emerged showing a frustrated Ogun State woman passionately calling out Governor Dapo Abiodun over the deplorable condition of roads across the state, demanding to know what the government is doing with its monthly allocations.
In the video, the woman—speaking directly to the camera from a flooded, pothole-ridden road—appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, referencing his call for Nigerians to hold governors accountable for the use of public funds.
“Governor Dapo Abiodun, our President has given us the authority and power to ask what governors are doing with our money. Sir, tell us what you are doing with Ogun State’s allocation,” she said angrily.
Visibly emotional, she described the daily struggles faced by residents, lamenting that “no road is motorable in Ogun State.” According to her, the roads have become so bad that motorists must park their vehicles during rainfall to avoid damage.
“This is Itele. This road is terrible. Once it rains, we start looking for where to park because this road is not motorable. I repair my car every week! I might as well pay my tax to Lagos where things work and I see value for my money,” she cried.
The woman accused the governor of neglecting the state’s infrastructure despite regular allocations from the federal government, challenging him to take immediate action.
“There is no single road in Ogun State that you can drive for 10 minutes without hitting potholes. Once you cross from Lagos into Ogun, the difference is clear. Governor Abiodun, you can do better. You need to do better with our money,” she concluded.
