INEC Shifts Presidential Polls By One Week

After a crucial meeting of the national commissioners of the Commission and its chairman, Professor Moshood Yakubu. The presidential election and the National Assembly elections have been shifted by one week. Nigerians will now have to wait till February 23, 2019, to elect the next president and federal legislators, while the governorship election will be conducted on March 9. The latter was earlier scheduled for March 2.

Yakubu who said it was a painful decision to take , said the Commission took the decision because of logistic problems. 

A similar situation happened in 2011, when the Commission postponed the first set of election on the morning of the scheduled date.
