The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has given a new date for the presentation of Certificate of Return to Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor-elect of Lagos State and his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat.
The notice of postponement was contained in a statement on Monday by the electoral commission’s public relations officer, Femi Akinbiyi at the state headquarters of INEC in Yaba, Lagos.
He revealed that the event has been moved from March 27 to March 29, but the commission did not give reasons for the postponement.
Sanwo-Olu, candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, was declared winner of the Lagos State governorship election held on the 9th of March by INEC.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner for Lagos, Sam Olumekun, disclosed that the lawmakers-elect of the state’s House of Assembly would also be given certificates of return the same day.
