Ifeyinwa Omowale, erstwhile Deputy National President of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, has emerged as the National President of the association.
Giving her acceptance speech at the ASCON Main Auditorium, Badagry; the venue of the election, Omowale thanked all the women journalists who turned out in large numbers from different states to support her with their votes.
She promised not to let them down as there would be extensive trainings and other benefits for NAWOJ members during her tenure.
Omowale described Fatimah Abdulkareem, her opponent in the election as a reputable and renowned personality and called on all members of the association to help make her administration a success.
The new NAWOJ President alongside other eighteen National Executives were sworn into office on Sunday around 3:30 am after the election held at the ASCON Main Auditorium, Topo, Badagry, Lagos.
