The Department of Building Technology of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State, is a world-class in terms of its curriculum and configuration, according to the Council of Registered Builders of Nigeria, CORBON.
Professor Kabir Bala who led a team of CORBON accreditation officials to the department recently said the curriculum of the department is one of the best he has ever come across.
On the quality of staff and facilities, the professor said the department has full complement and state-of-the-art equipment: “I am happy with the crop of staff in the school, considering the age of the school. The e-library is an advantage; it will guide the students and even open them up to what operates in some other schools of building outside Nigeria.”
Speaking during the event, Professor Adebiyi Daramola, the school’s Vice-Chancellor, who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Professor Tunde Arayela, applauded the team for being thorough and detailed in their observations.
“I am sure this report will add to the quality of the building programme in FUTA and the university will not stop at improving on what it has on ground. Our quest for excellence in all our programmes will be sustained,” he promised.
