A viral social media claim suggesting that an actress from the 1980 film The Gods Must Be Crazy has joined subscription-based content platform OnlyFans is false, following the misidentification of a South African influencer as a cast member of the classic movie.

The claim began circulating on X on November 2, 2026, after a post alleged that “Arie Cakes”, known for her appearance in The Gods Must Be Crazy, had reportedly joined OnlyFans.

The post, which featured photographs of a contemporary woman, attracted significant attention online, with thousands of likes, shares and views. Some entertainment websites also repeated the claim, presenting it as a surprising development involving an actress from the popular 1980 comedy.

However, available information shows that the woman in the photographs is Arriecakes, whose real name is Arantxa Maarman, a South African influencer, musician and content creator from Cape Town.

Maarman has reportedly maintained an OnlyFans presence for several years, with online activity dating back to around 2020. Her presence on the platform is therefore not a recent development.

More importantly, there is no evidence linking her to The Gods Must Be Crazy or its cast.

Other principal cast members included Marius Weyers and Sandra Prinsloo. Available cast information does not identify anyone named Arie Cakes, Arriecakes or Arantxa Maarman as an actress in the production.

The viral claim appears to have originated from a case of mistaken identity, combining the name and photographs of a contemporary social media personality with the title of a decades-old film.

Although the post generated amusement and reactions among social media users, its central allegation that a The Gods Must Be Crazy actress had joined OnlyFans is unsupported.

Verdict: FALSE. Arriecakes is a South African content creator who has reportedly been on OnlyFans for years. There is no credible evidence that she appeared in The Gods Must Be Crazy.
