The Eko Electricity Distribution Company has acquired 40 new distribution transformers as part of efforts to boost the company’s operations during the yuletide.

Ademola Adegoke, principal manager, Public Affairs Division of the EKEDC disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday.

Oladele Amoda, EKEDC Managing Director put the cost of acquisition and installation of the transformers at N200 million.

The statement said the motive behind the acquisition of the new transformers was to ensure that customers did not experience prolonged outages as a result of faulty equipment, especially as the Christmas and New Year celebrations approach.

The statement also attributed the move to the company’s policy of continuously investing in the upgrade and reinforcement of its network to meet customers’ demands at all times.

The EKEDC said that the company would continue to make optimal service delivery and customer satisfaction the centre-piece of its operations and activities.

It reassures customers that all the eleven business districts of the company will benefit from the installation of the new transformers. The company also said that in addition to the injection of the 40 new transformers into the network, so many other service improvement programmes in the pipeline would soon manifest.
