Edo Releases Pension Money

The Edo State Government has released the sum of N212,  879,888 million naira to local government pensioners in the state. This is in keeping with the promise of Godwin Obaseki, governor of the state, to continue to cater to the needs of senior citizens and pensioners in the state. The governor said that the money was for the month of August and requested the state workers and pensioners to support his government’s efforts in key areas like education, primary healthcare, infrastructure, security, job creation and industrialisation.

While challenging heads of local government areas in the state to creatively harness the huge human and natural resources in the state for the good of all Edo people, the governor noted that the newly commissioned BUA Cement company and the Edo Fertilizer and Chemical Company Limited have started impacting positively on the economy of the state through the creation of jobs, access to affordable fertilizer by farmers and the emergence of several allied businesses.
Yemi Osinbajo, vice president, last week commissioned the 60,000 metric tonnes fertilizer plant in Auchi and the two million metric tonnes BUA Cement plant in Okpella both in Edo State, thus setting the stage for huge industrial activities in the two key sectors of the state.
