Edo Deputy Governor Gets Chief Press Secretary

The secretary to the state government, (SSG) Musa Umar Ikhilor, has announced Friday Aghedo as the chief press secretary to the Deputy Governor of Edo State, Dennis Idahosa.

The announcement, made on Friday, marked the first appointment to be made for the office of the deputy governor since the inception of the new administration on November 12 causing anxiety in his camp.

A deputy chief of staff is yet to be named for the office. Aghedo’s appointment, contained in a letter signed by the SSG, was backdated to December 2, 2024.

Aghedo is bringing on board a wealth of experience in media handling and leadership skills.
He will be at home with his principal having worked with him in the same capacity since 2019 following his (Dennis Idahosa) election into the House of Representatives and subsequently as the Deputy Governor of the state.

Aghedo had also served as the press secretary to the Chairman of Ovia Southwest Local Government council as well as Deputy Director, New Media committee of the All-Progressives Congress governorship campaign council, and worked tirelessly to ensure the victory of Governor Monday Okpbebholo

Married with children, Aghedo holds a B.Sc. [Ed] in Political Science and Public Administration from the University of Benin (UNIBEN).
Before his new appointment, Aghedo, had been a blogger and publisher of infopowerng.com. He has numerous awards to his credit, including ASMIIN Blogger Of the year Award [2021]
