Wife of the governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State, Mrs. Ifeyinwa Ighodalo, on Tuesday, embarked on a roadshow to galvanise the electorate to vote for her husband, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, on Saturday.
The roadshow, which kicked off from the National Museum ground, Benin, saw women in their large numbers, notably from the Arewa community, and other women groups from three local government areas of Oredo, Ikpoba-Okha, and Egor, join the campaign train.
At the carnival-like roadshow, the governorship candidate’s wife was dancing to his popular campaign jingle of “If Asue dey there he go do am, Alaghodaro, we no dey go back”, and urging Edo people to come out en masse to vote for him. The crowd began to grow as the roadshow attracted the Oba Market women and other passers-by thus creating a convivial atmosphere.
Excited at the roadshow and Ighodalo’s candidacy, Mrs. Philomena Osaro from Oredo ward 3, said they would come out en masse to vote for him on Saturday because he only had the capacity to govern the state.
According to Osaro, “Come September 21, Mr. Asue Ighodalo is going to be voted for by the people, and he is going to win this election. Everybody is going to come out to vote for him because he has the capacity. He is a man with compassion for his people, and he is very accessible. He is the man that is qualified to occupy Dennis Osadebey Avenue”.
