The Garrison Commander, 33 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Col. Mohammed Barack has been killed by suspected bandits.

The incident, which took place on Bauchi – Jos Road, was said to have taken place on Sunday while the deceased was riding a power bike from Kaduna to Bauchi.

Military rites commenced immediately preparatory to his burial in Kano where he hailed from in accordance with Islamic tradition.

Spokesman of 33 Artillery Brigade, Bauchi, Major Yahaya Nasir Kabara, confirmed the incident.

As investigations continue, tension is building up in the state even though there are speculations that the killing of the commander could be a case of armed robbery.
