Edo State University, Uzairue, has undergone a name change to Edo University, Iyamho. The renaming is with immediate effect
This was announced on Monday by Governor Monday Okpebholo in a statement by the secretary to the state government, Musa Umar Ikhilor.
TELL recalls that the University, which was founded by former Governor Adams Oshiomhole, and sited in his village, Iyamho, had been named Edo State University, Iyamho. The name was however changed by Okpebholo’s predecessor, Godwin Obaseki, who renamed it Edo State University, Uzairue.
Ikhilor’s statement said “Accordingly, all documentations in respect of the Institution henceforth shall reflect the above change”.
