Sunshine Stars Appoints New Coach

Sunshine Stars of Akure Football Club has appointed Erasmus Onuh as its new coach. He replaces Henry Abiodun, who recently left the club in controversial circumstances.

Onuh, a former ABS of Ilorin coach, is to take charge of the club for the remaining games of the Nigeria Professional Football League season.

A statement signed by Wahab Bankole, the Club’s media officer, said Onuh’s appointment is part of the redeployment exercise approved by the management of the Ondo State Football Agency, ODSFA.

“Following the recent redeployments of coaches under its supervision, the Management of the Ondo State Football Agency, ODSFA, led by the Chairman, Akin Akinbobola, has confirmed the appointment of Coach Erasmus Onuh as the new head coach of Sunshine Stars,” the statement read.
The statement also added that Abiodun will be “assigned a new assignment likely outside the club.”
Sunshine Stars are sixth on the Nigeria Professional Football League log with 37 points from 25 games this season.
