The presiding Priest of Holy Aruosa Cathedral, Ohen-osa Edebiri Igbinoghodua, has admonished worshippers to remain steadfast in their devotion to God Almighty and shun backbiting to attract God’s blessings.
Ohen-osa Igbinoghodua, in his homily at the maiden Thanksgiving service in 2025 by the Oba of Benin, Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, at the Holy Aruosa Cathedral, otherwise known as the Edo national church, in Benin City, noted that despite many challenges in the past years, Oba Ewuare II had recorded several milestones, noting that progress often attracts envy and sometimes conspiracy by evil doers.
The service, which came barely three months after the Oba’s eighth coronation anniversary Thanksgiving at the same venue, afforded Edo residents the opportunity to pay their respect to the revered royal father who was joined by his Queens (Iloi), children and other members of the Benin royal family, including Prince Aghatise Erediauwa, chiefs, Dukes (Enigie), priests and priestesses from various communities and villages in Benin Kingdom.
The Benin monarch was also joined by other prominent Nigerians, including the Vice Chancellor, University of Benin (UNIBEN), Prof. Edoba Omoregie, the state Attorney-General, Dr Samson Osagie, a former deputy governor of Edo State, Lucky Imasuen and His Royal Highness, King Akile Omide, the 10th, the Pere of Biseni Kingdom of Yenogia, Bayelsa State.
Ohen-osa Igbinoghodua, interceded for the Oba of Benin and Edo people at home and in the Diaspora, as well as Nigerian leaders during the church service where the Holy Aruosa choristers gave a good account of themselves.
