The wife of Nigeria’s Senate President, Mrs. Unoma Godswill Akpabio has filed multiple lawsuits at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, against Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) senator representing Kogi Central at the National Assembly.
The suits detail a breach of fundamental rights and defamation stemming from statements made by the senator during an interview on Arise Television Morning Show on Friday February 28, 2025.
In the interview, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan had claimed that her ordeal in the senate was because she refused the Senate President’s sexual advances, an allegation Mrs. Akpabio described as false, unfounded, and a figment of her wild imagination.
At a press conference she addressed on Friday February 28, 2025; to defend her husband, the former Akwa Ibom State First Lady described him as a disciplined and jovial man who respects women and vowed to seek legal redress against Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan.
