The Redeemed Christian Church of God 20th Holy Ghost Congress 2017 edition theme “A Song of victory” which held from 4 to 9 December 2017, was a memorable event with millions of worshipers from all over the world who gathered to worship God and intercede for their nations and the rest of the world. The three-word theme: Songs of Victory, amidst inspired preaching from the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor E.A Adeboye and other eminent Christian leaders, signalled a glorious ending to a year that started on a tough note for many.

The Morning sessions offered opportunity for prayers and personal ministration. The morning and afternoon sessions were capped with highly inspired ministration, prophetic declarations, word of knowledge targeted at special cases and prayers.

Also, several worshipers stepped forward to share their testimonies during the six-day programme. The ushers had a tough time controlling the crowd of jubilant mothers some of whom had waited for upward of 10 years since they got married for the fruit of the womb, with some of them conceiving twins and triplets. The front of the alters in the new auditorium and the viewing centre at the old auditorium was filled to capacity. In addition to pregnancy, many testified to diverse healings, provisions and other miraculous interventions.

The traffic situation during the event was addressed. Inward and outward vehicular movement in both the old and new auditoriums were strictly monitored by the traffic squad. Also, the traffic management team warned vehicles not to park along the perimeter of both old and new auditoriums and places outside designated car parks and various routes were earmarked for worshipers.
Business owners, including food sellers, reaped from the six-day event. Transporters also made good money carrying passengers to and from the church venue.

Modest accommodation was also available for non-resident worshipers and foreigners. Uninterrupted power supply and adequate water supply were also available. Among those who attended the congress were top government functionaries and world leaders like Yemi Osinbajo, Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Akinwunmi Ambode, governor of Lagos State and his wife Bolanle, Betty Obaseki,  Edo State First Lady, Moque, the Chief justice of South Africa, General Gabriel Olonisaki, Chief of Air Staff, Prophet SK Abiara, the General Overseer of Christ Apostolic Church were all present.

Worshipers within and outside the Redeemed Christian Church of God eagerly looked forward to the Friday night of the Congress. Their expectation was met at about midnight on Friday, December 9th when the Man of God fondly called “Daddy G O, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, the General Overseer of the church, stepped forward to minister. He announced the theme of the 2018 First Holy Ghost night as “Power Must Change Hand.” He said: “The unfailing God has assured us that it is time for us to sing songs of victory and also the appointed time to sing all through the Congress and into the new year. “ At the end of the programme,  people were already singing their songs of victory.
