Arunma Oteh, Director General, DG, the Nigerian Securities and Exchange Commission, SEC, has been re-elected for the second time as the chairperson of the African/Middle East Regional Committee, AMERC.

She was returned un-opposed to head the committee at the on-going International Organisation of Securities Commissions, IOSCO in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

She is to hold the position and be part of the highest decision making level of the international organisation for another period of 2-years.

In her acceptance remark, Oteh stated that the re-election depicts the confidence on her and her team of staff at SEC; and Nigeria at large.

Oteh further remarked that “our work is very important to IOSCO and that it is very important to the market.” Adding that one of the things she and the team have achieved in the past two years has been “greater inclusion and cohesion.”

“I am excited about the opportunity given us to lead the committee again for the next two years and we will continue to ensure that our committee is the best in IOSCO,” she said.
