A Benin-based professor of medicine and orthopaedic surgeon, Christopher Ogiehor was on Wednesday night assassinated. Ogiehor, 80, was until his gruesome murder, the medical director of City Clinic, at No. 34, Ewah Road, Benin, Edo State. Igiehor, who was murdered in his Number 13, Egbor Anene Street, GRA, residence, was the father-in-law to a governorship aspirant and expelled member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Matthew Iduoriyekemwen.
Professor Ogiehor was said to have been found dead in his house in the early hours of Thursday morning with his hands tied, and head battered.
Confirming the incident, the Edo State Police Command said it has commenced investigation into the murder.The Public Relations Officer (PPRO), of the Command, Chidi Nwabuzor, a deputy superintendent of police, DSP, said crack detectives from the the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in charge of homicide have been dispatched to the deceased’s residence.
