NUJ Media Games: Tell Beats Daar Communications In Football Match

The football team of Tell Communications Limited today thrashed the football team of DAAR Communications Limited, 1-0 in it’s first match of the round one stage at the ongoing 2014 Med-View/Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ Media Games.

The match was played at the Legacy Pitch of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos on Monday, September 1. The lone goal of the match was scored by Henry Okoutu, a staff of TELL during the second half of the match.

Also at the first round stage, the football teams of Vanguard Newspaper and Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN played a 1:1 draw.

In the course of the competition, TELL is expected to meet the teams of News Agency of Nigeria, NAN on Tuesday, September 2 and Sports Day on Wednesday, September 3 at the National Stadium, Surulere.

The NUJ Media Games kicked off on Saturday, August 30 with an opening ceremony, which was chaired by the Lagos State Commissioner for Sports, Enitan Oshodi.

The football event, which began on September 1, will be a five-a-side event while the indoor games, which will take place inside the Sports Writers Association Secretariat, will hold from September 2 to 4 and the athletics events is scheduled to hold at the main bowl of the National Stadium.

Deji Elumoye, the chairman, Nigerian Union of Journalists, Lagos State Council, said the top three teams on the overall medals table will receive cash rewards as well as the top three football teams.
