The Nigerian Immigration Service, NIS, Seme Command, Lagos, on Monday announced that it deported 433 irregular immigrants between January and December 2014.
Seme Command spokesperson, Salmon Yusuf, said that 50 Nigerians were also deported from other countries during the same period.
He explained that 144, 288 people arrived the country through the Seme border during the period with valid passports and complete documents.
“From January to December 2014, 144,288 people arrived the borders with their valid passports, 95,389 of them were males, while 48,899 were females,” Yusuf said.
He added that “the foreigners that were refused entry were mainly from Mali, Benin Republic, Gabon, Burkina Faso and Equatorial Guinea.”
