The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has notified the general public that it is currently conducting routine maintenance on its Passport Digital Platform as part of ongoing efforts to improve service efficiency and enhance user experience.
In a public notice released on Thursday, the Service explained that the maintenance exercise is aimed at optimising system performance, strengthening platform reliability, and ensuring seamless access for passport applicants nationwide.
According to the NIS, such upgrades are essential to sustaining the functionality of the digital system, which handles thousands of daily applications and supports the federal government’s push for modernised and technology-driven public services.
While the maintenance is underway, users may experience temporary service interruptions. The NIS assured applicants that disruptions will be minimal and normal platform access will be restored as soon as the process is complete.
The Service also urged the public to remain patient and avoid panic, emphasising its commitment to providing faster, more efficient, and user-friendly passport application services.
The Nigeria Immigration Service reaffirmed that continuous system improvement remains a top priority as it works to deliver world-class digital services to Nigerians at home and abroad.
