Oby Ezekwesili, former Minister of Education has declared as unjust, the detention of Naomi Nyadar, Chibok Woman Leader. Nyadar is one of the women leaders who led the protest march for the 276 missing girls that were kidnapped in Borno by men suspected to be Boko Haram members.
She was reportedly driven away by men of the State Security Service, SSS, along with Saratu Angus Ndirpaya, another leader of the protest, to a police station earlier today after an all-night meeting at the presidential Villa, Abuja.
Ezekwesili narrated how when asked about the detained activists, the Divisional Police officer, DPO, of Asokoro Police station where Nyadar is detained had “lashed out on his right to privacy ” and responded that he has other pressing matters to attend to.
“The summary is,” Ezekwesili tweeted, “that 8 hours after Mrs. Naomi Mutah Nyadar was detained unjustly, the Nigerian Police has refused to speak to her husband and lawyer.”
She decried injustice on the part of the DPO, expressing the fact that he is a public officer who should account to the public on Naomi Nyadar’s unjust detention.
In a recent update by Ezekwesili, it was disclosed that Naomi Nyadar has been taken from the Asokoro Police Station to an unknown destination.
