Group Hails Ekiti Over Peaceful Conduct of Poll

The Media for Ethnic Equality, MEE has commended the people of Ekiti State for the peaceful conduct of weekend’s governorship election in the state.

Iyiola Johnson, Publicity Secretary MEE in a statement commended INEC over the credible election and also the security agencies for performing their jobs professionally. “ Ekiti people has once again demonstrated their sophistication in the handling of issues that concern their lives. We commend the people of Ekiti and most importantly the INEC which has conducted a poll adjudged as free and fair even by the other contenders and the Ekiti people,” stated Johnson.

We also commend the statesmanship of the incumbent governor who has accepted the polls result and congratulated the winner. We expect this trend to continue in the future elections in other states.

MEE urged the people of the state to continue their peaceful coexistence and work together for development and progress.
