Global Crackdown: FBI Leads Operation Endgame to Dismantle Major Cybercrime Network Targeting Ransomware Infrastructure

In a major international breakthrough against cybercrime, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and its global partners have successfully dismantled a vast criminal infrastructure responsible for powering ransomware attacks worldwide. The coordinated action, known as Operation Endgame, marks the third large-scale offensive since the initiative began.

The operation brought together law enforcement agencies from Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Lithuania, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom, underscoring the growing need for unified global action against fast-evolving cyber threats.

According to the FBI, the joint task force took down 1,025 criminal servers, seized 20 domains, and arrested one suspect in Greece. The servers and domains were linked to notorious cyber tools including the Rhadamanthys infostealer, VenomRAT, and the Elysium botnet—all widely used by cybercriminals to steal sensitive information, gain unauthorized system access, and deploy ransomware.

Authorities say the dismantled infrastructure played a critical role in enabling large-scale cyberattacks targeting individuals, businesses, and governments across the globe.

The FBI emphasized that working closely with international partners strengthens global cybersecurity, stating that the joint effort is “defending the homeland by shutting down the key services that cybercriminals depend on.”

Operation Endgame remains ongoing as agencies continue tracking criminal networks and targeting the tools they rely on. The latest success signals a strong warning to cybercriminals worldwide: global law enforcement is more coordinated than ever in combating ransomware and digital threats.
