Billionaire businessman and philanthropist Dr. Adedeji Adeleke has publicly rejected long-standing paternity claims linking his son, Afrobeats superstar Davido (David Adeleke), to 12-year-old Anuoluwapo Michelle, stating that multiple DNA tests have conclusively shown the singer is not the child’s biological father.

Speaking during a rare hour-long press conference at his Lagos residence on Wednesday, Dr. Adeleke said five separate DNA tests conducted over several years all returned a 0.00 percent probability of paternity, describing the results as definitive and scientifically conclusive.

Dr. Adeleke said the matter first arose in 2014, prompting an initial DNA test that came back negative. Despite the outcome, he said the Adeleke family continued to support the child and her mother, Ayo Labinjoh, for years, funding school fees and sponsoring Labinjoh’s education at Adeleke University, including tuition, accommodation, work-study placement, and a monthly allowance.

According to him, additional DNA tests were later conducted at independent laboratories, including one in South Africa, with representatives from both families present. When speculation surfaced suggesting Davido’s cousin, B-Red, might be the child’s father, further testing was carried out, which also returned negative results.

“I have fourteen grandchildren already,” Dr. Adeleke said. “If this child were David’s, I would welcome her openly. But science has settled this matter.”

He also claimed that Labinjoh had privately disclosed to a university lecturer that another man could be the biological father but alleged that the individual declined to submit to testing. Dr. Adeleke said the family-maintained support for the child even after disputes escalated publicly.

The controversy resurfaced earlier this month after posts from Anuoluwapo’s Instagram account called for a fresh DNA test, citing bullying and emotional distress. Davido responded publicly, stating that he had already undergone multiple tests clearing him of paternity.

Following his father’s address, Davido expressed appreciation on social media, thanking Dr. Adeleke for publicly addressing the issue and emphasizing family unity and closure.

In response, Ayo Labinjoh rejected Dr. Adeleke’s claims, insisting that only one DNA test was conducted in 2014 and alleging that it was flawed. She denied participating in any subsequent testing, dismissed claims involving B-Red, and called for a new, independent DNA test supervised by a neutral authority. She accused the Adeleke family of using wealth and influence to intimidate her and demanded Davido address the matter directly.

The Adeleke family maintains that DNA evidence should remain the basis for resolving the dispute and has called for an end to public speculation, stating that the child deserves clarity and peace.

The high-profile saga continues to divide public opinion, with supporters praising the family’s transparency and critics demanding independent verification. As reactions spread across social media, renewed calls have emerged for the child’s welfare to remain the focus amid the ongoing controversy.
