President Muhammadu Buhari is visiting Lagos State today to launch two major projects executed by his administration. One of them is the Mobolaji Johnson Railway Station at Ebute Meta area of the state. The station, said to be the “largest in West Africa with a holding capacity of 6,000 passengers” was named in honour of a former military governor of the state, late General Mobolaji Johnson.
The project is a part of the 157 kilometres Lagos – Ibadan standard rail project started in 2017.

The second project is in the maritime sector. For that purpose, he is expected to be in Apapa, precisely at the Energy Nature Light Terminal, for the commissioning of the Integrated National Security and Waterways Protection Infrastructure, otherwise known as the Deep Blue project.

In preparation for that exercise, the problematic Apapa gridlock has been cleared, and military men have been deployed to the area and the route to Apapa for adequate security.
The President’s visit will also affect traffic management in Lagos. So, in order to mitigate the impact, authorities in the state have announced diversions in the affected areas.
