Delegates from seven out of the twenty local government areas of Lagos State have so far voted in the ongoing primary election of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the state.
The local government areas that have voted and the number of delegates from each one is Epe: 291; Badagry: 305; Ikorodu: 498; Ibeju-Lekki: 189; Ojo: 237; Agege: 193 and Ifako Ijaiye: 214. Some of the party’s statutory delegates, state and national officials have also voted.
Meanwhile, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former governor of the state and national leader of the party sent a goodwill message to the aspirants and delegates for the election.
In the letter read by Joe Igbokwe, APC Lagos publicity secretary, Tinubu said, “Today is a historic and momentous day. Today advance the match of democracy in our state, Party and Nigeria.”
He therefore urged all the aspirants and delegates to “please reflect on what is good for Lagos. You must remain one and put the enemy who is looking for our downfall to shame…”
So far, the process has been devoid of crisis.
