Andrae Crouch Dies At 72

Iconic gospel artist, Andrae Crouch, has passed away. He died on Thursday at Northridge Hospital Medical Centre, Los Angeles, where he was hospitalised after he suffered a heart attack.

The seven-time Grammy Award winner and Academy Award nominee was popularly referred to as the “father of modern gospel music” for his fusion of the worlds of church and mainstream music.

His popular works include leading the choirs that sang on Michael Jackson’s Man in the Mirror and Madonna’s Like a Prayer. He also collaborated with Elton John, Diana Ross, Quincy Jones, and several other renowned music icons.

Some of the popular songs he wrote include, Soon and Very Soon, and My Tribute (To God Be the Glory).
